How it works…

Cheyenne Light, Fuel & Power partnered with Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF) to bring you an opportunity to support renewable energy through the Renewable Premium Program. BEF, a non-profit organization, was established in 1998 to restore watershed ecosystems and further the development and use of new renewable energy resources.

Electricity from renewable generation projects goes into the delivery system that provides electricity to homes, businesses, and industries in our region. For each mega-watt hour of electricity that is generated from one of these projects, a “block”
is tracked for the environmental benefits of that renewable project. These “blocks” are sold separately from the electricity, making it possible for everyone to support renewable energy generation. Funds collected from the Renewable Premium Program support current and future renewable energy projects.

One portion is paid to the owner of the project that provided the “block” to cover their costs of building and operating their plant. Another portion is invested in developing new renewable energy projects in Wyoming and the region. Finally, a portion is invested in helping build awareness and support for additional renewable energy resources.

Supporting renewable energy is your choice…

Supporting renewable energy through the Renewable Premium Program is completely voluntary. You choose how many Renewable Premium blocks you want to buy. For each Renewable Premium block you sign up for, $3.50 will be added to your monthly electricity bill. Simply fill out the Renewable Premium enrollment form in this brochure, cut it off, and mail it to us. Alternatively, you may sign up on-line through www.cheyennelight.com. We’ll add the charges to your monthly Cheyenne Light electric bill in the next billing cycle.

The Renewable Premium Program is just one more energy opportunity provided by Cheyenne Light, Fuel & Power.

Becoming a Renewable Premium Partner is Easy!

Renewable Premium blocks are available in 100 kWh increments for $3.50. You choose the number of blocks, and the Renewable Premium Program charges will be shown as a line item on your regular utility bill.
