Cheyenne Light, Fuel & Power

Landlord Service Revert Assistance

Cheyenne Light Fuel & Power offers a very important service to rental property owners. By completing a Landlord Interim Billing Service Agreement, Cheyenne Light Fuel & Power will automatically transfer your rental property utilities into your name in lieu of being disconnected due to periods of vacancy or tenant delinquencies.

If a tenant becomes delinquent and discontinuance of utility service is imminent, the terms of the Landlord Interim Billing Service Agreement will apply and service will revert into your name in lieu of disconnection. Cheyenne Light Fuel & Power recognizes that a property owner may wish to request an order to disconnect service rather than incur cost while the tenant is still occupying said property. Cheyenne Light Fuel & Power will honor this request during the Public Service Commission (PSC) recognized non-heating season of May 1 thru October 31. Should the request be made during the PSC recognized heating season of Nov 1 thru April 30 a Landlord Cancellation Form would need to be signed in order for it not to be viewed as a breech of contract. For all service needs Cheyenne Light, Fuel & Power suggests three days prior notice in order to accommodate your request.

Additionally a Landlord is not held liable for a tenant’s utility bill providing the tenant(s) have service in their name at the time a debt is incurred unless the landlord has guaranteed such payment through a Guarantor Agreement.

In conjunction with the Landlord Interim Billing Service Agreement you may also complete a Landlord Third Party Notification Form. This form will entitle you to notification if a tenant becomes delinquent. This service is available to you as a property owner whether or not you have a Landlord Interim Billing Service Agreement.
There is no cost for having a Landlord Interim Billing Service Agreement or Landlord Third Party Notification; however; there is a Customer Service Charge of $15.00 when a property is transferred in to a new tenant’s name or back to the Landlord via the Landlord Interim Billing Service Agreement.

Please understand that we rely on you to ensure the accuracy of any information provided to us. If you buy more properties in our service area, or the information on the Landlord Interim Billing Service Agreement changes, you will need to notify us by providing a newly signed form. For properties that you no longer own, you will need to submit a signed Landlord Cancellation Form and Landlord Third Party Cancellation Form.
