Q. What is Cheyenne Light, Fuel & Power's Energy Efficiency Solutions Program?
A. Cheyenne Light's three-year Energy Efficiency Solutions Program was approved by the Wyoming Public Service Commission on March 11, 2011. The program is aimed at helping residential, commercial and industrial customers use energy more efficiently.
Specifically, the program provides Cheyenne Light customers financial incentives to install and use a variety of energy-efficient products, provides them the opportunity to better manage their monthly utility bill and supports the company's long-term effort to reduce electricity and natural gas consumption.
Q. Why should I participate in this program?
A. By using Cheyenne Light's Energy Efficiency Solutions Program, which offers customers financial incentives to install and use a variety of energy-efficient products, customers have the opportunity to save money by better managing their monthly utility bill. Infact, it is estimated that during the three-year period, Cheyenne Light customers are projected to save nearly 18 million kilowatt hours of electricity and 50,000 dekatherms of natural gas.
Q Who is paying for the program?
A. Customers fund the Energy EfficiencySolutions Program. The surcharge amount was approved by the Wyoming Public Service Commission. Starting December 2011, customers will begin seeing the fee on their monthly utility bill. Residential electric customers will see an average monthly surcharge of approximately $0.56 per month, and residentialnatural gas customers should expect to see an average monthly surcharge of approximately $0.65 per month.
These small fees can be easily offset by replacing just two 75-watt incandescent lights with compact fluorescent light bulbs. The calculated savings (estimated at $14.40 per year).
Note: The $14.40 savings for the two CFLs is an estimate based upon the average time a residential customer uses one light per day (3.5 hours).
Q. How do I know if I qualify?
A. As part of its Energy Efficiency Solutions Program, Cheyenne Light is offering specific programs, each one tailored toward residential, commercial or industrial customers.

Q. Is it really worth my time to replace appliances, fixtures and other items around my home and/or business?
A. Cheyenne Light created the Energy Efficiency Solutions Program to benefit its customers. Cheyenne Light wants to save customers money and help them to use less energy.
By using this program, customers have the opportunity to participate in an energy-efficiency program that is estimated to save nearly 18 million kilowatt hours during the next three years, which would be equivalent to supplying electricity to approximately 2,150 homes or saving enough natural gas to serve 625 homes for one year.
